The most affordable static locator you can buy. Perfect for  frequent checks of workstation grounding systems or spotting static buildup in  converting or printing operations. HOLD button freezes display to capture  transients or for hard-to-read locations. Battery SavR turns instrument off when  not in use. Range at 1 inch from target: ±20 kV. Range can be expanded as far as  ±80 kV by holding instrument at 4, 6.5, or 8.5 inches from target and  multiplying reading by 2, 3, or 4. Correct polarity is selected  automatically.
